Prayer is confrontation with the enemy. Our struggles are not of flesh and blood. Our weapons are not the same as the weapons of this world. We are to put on the whole armour of God. We are to put on the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness. We need to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel. Knowing and being confident in God so that we are ready for anything that comes towards us. We are to hold up the shield of faith. We are to have the helmet of salvation and the sword – which is the world of God. Warfare prayer involves declaring God’s word.
