Warriors Waffle

It was prelim finals week, game one didn't but game two most definitely eased a bit of pain still being felt by the Warriors nation, the Knights beating the Panthers to advance to the Grand Final was an all time great game!

That one is going to sting for a while, some will argue we had the chance to win taken away from us, others will say we didn't play well enough, either way it's a disappointing end to an impressive year for the team, the hurt is real and it needs to be used as fuel to get up and go harder again next year.

Whether we wanted to believe it or not, it was always going to be a massive ask for us to beat arguably the form team of the past two months, the Dolphins backline is by far the best in the league and they turned up and showed why.

Was this the best warm up for the finals? Possibly not, but we got the win against a game Sea Eagles team who came to play, they probably did us a favor showing what we need to fix up before we play a rampant Dolphins team this week in the first round of the finals, bring it on!!

That game had something for everyone - the hit of the year, fourteen tries, impressive running and tackle busting stats from multiple players, big effort from the Knights to stay in that game after having a player sent off then losing two more key forwards, good to get the win but it wasn't a good performance and might have been the slap we needed prior to the finals.

Any time we put 40 plus on a team and get the win is great but the Rabbits scoring 26 in quick time, mostly down our right side, is a cause for concern, an injury to DWZ is also massive, he will be sorely missed!

Yes, the Broncos are terrible at the moment but putting them to the sword at Suncorp will never get old, very professional performance from the team the only bummer being Metcalf getting injured again, rugby league can be a cruel game sometimes.

If anyone had any doubts about our 2026 premiership credentials, then THAT performance from the boys against Penrith at a rocking Mt Smart should have put that to bed, we have a serious team and if we can play like that against the top dogs then anything is possible!!

That is the way to respond to disappointing loss, the boys came out and put a clinic on against the Titans in from of a large crows on the Gold Coast, the inclusive of Leka at center was a masterstroke, bring on the Panthers this Friday night!!

We came up against a rampaging Dogs team that were up for this game, it was hard to watch but we didn't actually play that badly and ultimately it may be good for us in the long term, what it does is set up is a must win game against the Titans this week.
