Before you can worship, you must repent. When you sin against God then you've trespassed against Him therefore you will not feel from Him.
Animals being sacrificed for the sins, blood flowing from the animals where their bodies were drained. God required afterwards that the priest MUST change their clothes and cleanse himself completely. The priest had to do this before he could worship God.
Some people think that sin is glamorous. They live their life as if nothing matters. In the end, their sin will be to their demise. Gal 3:27, Eph 4:22-24, 2 Cor 5:27 one has to repent in order to be one with Christ. Before one can be saved, God has to remove the sins, be forgiven.
Cor 15 there is a day coming that the mortal body will be removed before we can have a heavenly body. A heavenly body where we won't need to rest, feed or take care of any longer.
Most do not like to repent, saying sorry, admitting they've done something wrong. In order to have life with Christ, then you've got to let go of the old and grab the new.
