Earlier in the week, the Commanders fired Sam Mills, now former defensive line coach and promoted Jeff Zgonina to the position. Zgonina is a former defensive lineman himself and Super Bowl champion with the St. Louis Rams. He has prior coaching experience with the San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans and New York Giants.
