The Washington Commanders had a joint practice with the New York Jets yesterday, and play a preseason game tomorrow at 12pm ET against them.
How did the joint practice go? We heard some positive and negative reviews. The positive: Emmanuel Forbes, our first round pick last year, had an interception and a couple pass breakups. Jayden Daniels looked sharp in 7v7 action against an excellent Jets secondary and linebacker crew. Brycen Tremayne and Dyami Brown both made some nice plays as well. The negative: Our secondary had problems against Garrett Wilson. The offensive line, while filled with backups, did not hold their own well against the Jets defense in 11v11 action. As a result, Jayden Daniels had to check the ball down a lot. What do we make of the various reviews?
What are expectations for the upcoming preseason game against the Jets? KDot and Amit both speak on wanting to see positive body language from all the players. A layer deeper than that, few penalties and playing disciplined overall. From Adam Peters perspective, the rookies making plays in this game would be a major plus.
