Presents a chilling first-person narrative of a wildlife biologist who recounts a terrifying experience after culling a deer infected with Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD). The carcass inexplicably disappears and reappears on trail cameras, exhibiting unnatural movement and behavior. As events escalate, the protagonist discovers that the infection is far more sinister—a regenerative, parasitic force capable of reanimating host bodies, including the deer and eventually his colleagues. Confronted with the horror, he destroys the fungal hive where the infected are aggregating. Realizing he is also infected, he records a final log and takes his own life to prevent the contagion from spreading further.
