Hebrews 10:26-39.

Having magnified the once for all sin forgiving sacrifice of Jesus (10:1-18), and highlighting the practical application of Jesus’ sacrificial work for our daily lives (10:19-25)—once more our Author delivers a stern warning concerning the consequences of falling away from Jesus Christ. In other words, he again turns to the topic of apostasy. If we treat the three-fold call of “let us draw near…let us hold fast…and let us stir up” with calloused flippancy, then the apostasy he now warns against might very well be the course we end up traveling. And since there is a fearful expectation of judgment for those who walk away from Jesus, we must watch out, look back, and press forward.
