Anni Ellis was joined by expert guest Julia Palaschak on this week’s Sustainable Living show to discuss water usage in the Tampa Bay area.
Julia is the City of Tampa’s Water Conservation and Efficiency Team Leader and a Florida-Friendly Landscaping Certified Professional. She specializes in residential irrigation efficiency, helping customers “save water save cash.” Julia’s conservation ethic was established while growing up on an Illinois farm, in a family of eight. She earned an Associate of Science from Joliet Junior College for landscape design and nursery production, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Florida for botany. She’s lived in her Sulphur Springs home for 30+ years where she tends to more than 100 species of plants, including a street garden for seasonal vegetables. She and her husband average 71 gallons of water per day for indoor and outdoor use.
