In this episode Andi explores the Marine Institute's test centre for NATO's Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) network. Andi's guest, Maria Halfyard is the Manager of Business and Development at The Launch, MI's modern state-of-the art research and development facility in Holyrood, Newfoundland and Labrador.

In the third episode of season three, Andi is joined by biologist, Sabina Akhter, a graduate of MI's Advanced Diploma in Water Quality program. Sabina discusses the importance of managing aquatic resources and why she chose to enroll in MI's Master of Marine Studies (Water Resource Management) program.

In this episode, host Kerri dives into the Nautical Skills Competition, an annual event hosted by the Master Mariners of Canada NL Division in collaboration with Fisheries and Marine Institute. This competition challenges Nautical Science and Marine Engineering students to test their maritime abilities through a series of exercises, including vessel docking in high winds, fast rescue craft operations, and emergency situations.

Joining us are two current Marine Institute students, Hayley North and Julia Young, who will share their experiences preparing and participating in the competition. We'll also hear from Nautical Skills Committee chair Eben March, who provides insights into the competition.
