Waverly Hills Sanatorium, in Louisville, Kentucky, is considered to be one of the most haunted locations in the United States. It opened as a tuberculosis hospital on July 26, 1910 when the tuberculosis epidemic was beginning to gain steam in the country. Sadly, the main use for the hospital was to isolate those who had contracted the disease, and during the time that it ran as a hospital it was estimated that approximately 6000 people perished here, but there are some that believe that number could be as high as 64,000.Paranormal investigators have heard strange sounds and eerie footsteps in empty rooms, have heard slamming doors and seen lights in the windows as if the power is on, and witnessed apparitions in the hallways and rooms. Tour guides have reported seeing doppelgängers of themselves and many have encountered a dark, terrifying entity called the Creeper who crawls on the floors, walls and ceilings instilling dread in those who see him.Are the spirits of all those that succumbed to tuberculosis haunting the sanatorium? Or could there be some more sinister entities roaming the halls?
