A rainy Wednesday to everyone and I hope that you are well, safe, and dry. For today's episode, we talk about ways to overcome self-doubt.
There will always be a point in our lives wherein we will be asking ourselves if we are doing enough. I mean, you may be wondering "kaya ba today?"
Self-doubt is a feeling of being uncertain about ourselves. More often it attacks our confidence and we tend to curve in our shells. Some will relate that introversion is equal to self-doubt but there are introverts that have full confidence in the field that they are in so that already nullifies such claims.
Speaking of self-doubt - before releasing this blog and podcast I always have this mental battle wherein I talk to myself asking " Who am I to share stuff about personal development? Empowerment to others where in fact I also struggle to such?" But I still did it, because #1 if I will not be creating such content then I will not be getting any money on the side ( Sa totoo lang tayo) then # 2 Is I actually have some listeners already that leaves wonderful comments on my contents.
According to what I have read, one of the factors that affect self-doubt is trauma and experiences from childhood and sometimes with concerns about attachments.
A child that was raised by parents that supports them and were natured well without any judgment tends to do well and have very little chance of self-doubts. Versus children being told by the primary caregiver that they are not good and their efforts are not enough.
Have you experienced such remarks before when growing up? It doesn't matter if it is from your parents or other people.
Our Mistakes in the past sometimes haunt us.
More often we just shrug off the experiences that we have in the past but not the tragic ones. Bad experiences always leave a bad taste in everyone so as our confidence. Imagine yourself stuttering in a report that you had prepared for days when you are studying at school. Your classmates laugh at you get ridiculed for how you speak and how you mess up.
These such instances create a mental scar in someone's life wherein hinders the growth and if there's a chance to report again more often than not you will just volunteer to write everything in the manila paper or just hold the props but never - ever again try to speak in front. ( True experience yarn?)
No normal person will be immune to doubting oneself ( unless you are a narcissist ) and now we are going to talk about how we can get the best stuff still while we are doubting.
Doubt Your Doubts.
Will you believe if I tell you that self-doubts are something that our mind processed to protect us rather than harm? However, such doubts start to take a toll in our lives and we are eaten by the fear of trying new stuff. Always remember these doubts are not the truth and probably these are the scenarios that were played in our minds multiple times until these become our shackles to accept what we are capable of.
Ask yourself rather than doubt what if I am thinking the opposite?
What is your biggest "why"?
Start whatever you have right now.
