Richard is joined by Illinois State Rep. Tracy Katz Muhl (D-Northbrook), who discussed her freshwater conservation bill (House Bill 2391), which amends the Illinois Environmental Protection Act to allow treated water for non-potable industrial uses. The bill, which is supported by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, aims to conserve fresh water by promoting treated water reuse in industrial processes. The bill received unanimous, bipartisan support in committee. Katz Muhl highlighted the importance of environmental legislation, noting its regional and national impact, and also mentioned her focus on education expansion and equality legislation.
