Richard Chew is joined by Jen Golbeck, professor, computer scientist, psychologist, “expert in the far-right, online extremism, AI, and bad things on the internet,” and author of the MAGAReport on Substack.

Golbeck discussed her research on personality traits and political preferences, focusing on "the dark tetrad" (sadism, psychopathy, narcissism, and Machiavellianism) in Trump voters. She found that Trump voters scored 30 percent higher on the sadism scale compared to Biden voters. Golbeck compared the MAGA movement to the Proud Boys, noting that while both support Trump, the Proud Boys have a more coherent ideology and are more likely to break from Trump. She highlighted the lack of empathy and enjoyment of others' suffering among MAGA supporters. Golbeck also covered her work on incels and her experiences covering protests in Los Angeles.
