WDID? - Blood Donor Restrictions (COVID-19)

In this week’s episode, we’re talking about antiquated restrictions on blood donation from people in the queer community - specifically MSM (men who have sex with men).

For our #ActionSteps in this episode:

  1. If you’re eligible, please donate blood. Check out redcrossblood.org
  2. Sign the petition. Glaad is hosting a petition to lift this ban of MSM and you can add your name for free at glaad.nationbuilder.com/blood
  3. Continue your education. We will be posting several references mentioned in today’s episode to the blog on our website at whatdoidopod.com and our Facebook page @wdidpod.
  4. If you’re someone who wasn’t aware of this restriction, you can probably assume that someone else you know is also unaware. Share this episode or the Glaad petition with your friends - help spread the word so we can make a change.
