We are fragile. All of us. No matter how famous or insulated by wealth and power. Sometimes it seems as though the only people who aren't are the evil, seemingly invicible ones. This is why we must honor our need to rest, to recharge, not to abdicate responsibility in making things better, but because, we are fragile. Yet we must persist in bringing the light. I don't address everything that's going on in this post, not by a long shot. So if you are particularly alarmed by things not recognized in this post, know that they're embedded in there, in the over-riding message: We've been here before. It's a season, a very dark one, but it will pass as long as we don't succumb to the luxury of despair. Keep lighting your candles. Happy Chanukka.
