This Sunday, Pastor Jake will teach on the passage from Matthew 20:17-19, where Jesus and His disciples are going to Jerusalem. He tells them that He would be handed over to the chief priests, condemned to death, and delivered to the Gentiles to be mocked, flogged, and crucified. However, He promises that on the third day, He would be raised to life.

Despite hearing this, the disciples didn’t understand and were still focused on worldly expectations of power and glory, rather than the suffering and sacrifice Jesus was describing.
