Moses came to realize he is an earthen vessel, and this broke his spirit to the point that God could use Moses to accomplish His will. Just like the Jars of Clay song, "Four Seven" - "We have this treasure in earthen vessels to know that this power is from God and not from us." (2 Corinthians 4:7)
