Peter asks Jesus, “Lord, how often should I forgive; seven times?” But Jesus responds that we are supposed to forgive people, not seven times; but seventy times seven. Jesus speaks to the importance of forgiveness because he knows the effects that unforgiveness has on us. In our series “We Believe,” we are looking at the basic tenants of our faith as we explore the Apostle’s Creed. We continue with our fourth statement of faith: “I believe in the forgiveness of sins.” Associated Scripture: Matthew 18:21-35.
