God created us for righteousness and friendship with Him, but sin entered the world through Adam and Eve's rebellion, bringing physical, spiritual, and eternal death. Jesus Christ, the second Adam, came as God's eternal plan for our salvation. Through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection, Jesus offers complete redemption. This salvation includes regeneration (heart change), justification (declared righteous), sanctification (growing in holiness), and glorification (our final state). Like the Good Samaritan rescuing the wounded traveler, Christ rescues us when we could not save ourselves. The only appropriate response is to repent and believe the gospel.
