Well this episode took a turn because when I scheduled it, I didn't know I would be waiting for a hurricane to hit. SO I re-recorded the intro and I think that the current conditions in additional to the discussion about data transparency for our own carbon footprint really hits home. Pun intended. Sanchali Pal was such an inspiration to talk to because she has created a real tool that we can all use on a regular basis to understand our impact. Sanchali Pal, CEO and founder of Joro, tracked her carbon footprint for years on a spreadsheet during grad school before realizing she needed to build a tool to make the process easier for everyone. Joro takes spedning data on our credit cards and applies a carbon equivalent to each purchase so that we can track our impact on a more regular basis, engage in challenges to make reductions and also apply offsets. She attended Princeton University an studied Economics before heading to Harvard Business School. We nearly crossed path at Tesla as interns before she started Joro. Sanchali raised a $1 million to build Joro from Sequoia Capital, a major venture capital group that has backed the likes of Airbnb, Doordash and Dropbox. Get your app on.
