After so much back and forth the last couple weeks, we finally broke up. My relationship has been on a rocky road for a while now and I have tried to make the necessary efforts in ensuring it works. However, I felt I am always the one making the effort and this time, I wanted to see if my girlfriend was also going to make that effort.

For that reason, I decided to give a bit of distance and to observe whether my girlfriend will show some level of basic effort either by calling or texting. She did neither and this was going to over 3 days. This created lots of doubts in my mind and also, raised the question as to whether my girlfriend really cared about me as much as she said she does.

As a result of that, I decided to end things as I find it difficult to be with someone who says one thing but their behaviours and actions shows otherwise. Trust me, it wasn't an easy decision to make but I felt it was necessary. Whether I rushed to make the decision is another matter entirely. I did apologise to my girlfriend when I went over as the decision could be seen as rushed but I stand by what I said. The onus is now on her to reach out if she still feels the relationship can work and we can have a conversation. But if she feels otherwise, then that's totally down to her.

I have many positive memories of our relationship and I have learnt so much which I would definitely take with me to my next relationship or a relationship with her if we do reconcile. However, it is now time for me to work on myself and try to become in all aspects instead of jumping straight into another relationship.
