At noon today you could update your iPad 2, 3 and 4 (generation 4) to iOS7. I did so this afternoon and started playing with the new features. In this video, I show you all the features of iOS7.

Major OS Overhaul

To get with the “Flat” initiative, Apple flattened out all the icons. No more drop shadows, bevels or glass-overs. The icons are white upon another color.

The buttons also got an overhaul as the old grey “OK” buttons disappeared. Sometimes its hard to figure out where the button is, though.

The search area is now a swipe down from the screen and to get to the control panel, you swipe up from the bottom of the device. If you swipe up onto an icon, you will open the program, not the panel.

4th generation iPads got AirDrop – the ability to move a file from device to device. I suggest you turn that off when not using. You can set it to share with contact, too.

Changing of Siri

Siri got some new voices. The female voice got an overhaul (Sorry Surface – you’ll have to update your commercials). You can also choose a male voice and a set of different languages including Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, German and more.

The Dynamic background adds something to the iPad – although I don’t see the 3D look that Tim Cook showed off at WWDC. Nonetheless, its a cool new feel to iPad.

Camera on iPad

iPad models only got camera, video and square (4:3) camera. You can do a picture burst mode and do have the effects options for your pictures. However, no pano (why?).

Many more features on the show – check it out!
