And the bass keeps runnin', runnin' and runnin', runnin, but that’s the bass, not us. Word on the streets is marathons are a no go for now but we got you! This week we tell stories of runners. Nydia tells the unbelievable story of Oscar Pistorius and the murder of Reeva Steenkamp. Dana tells us of women pioneers in marathon running. She shares the story of the Marathon Woman, Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to run the Boston Marathon.
For dinner, Nydia prepared twice-baked potatoes since carb-loading is seen as a good way to fill your muscles with glycogen. She literally looked that up. She’s never run a day in her life! Dana baked delicious giant oatmeal cookies. Not a raisin was found in any of the cookies. We shared a bottle of Chateau Souverain Chardonnay and it was a great little Chardonnay for only $8! It had a light fruity flavor with no nasty after taste. You just can’t beat it for the money.
