Proverbs 4:20-23

My child, pay attention... guard your heart above all else for it determines the course of your life.

Your heart is your connection to God, your father. Our hearts are our moral connection . You have to be proactive in guarding your heart or it won't work. Spirtitually guard your heart. Becoming wiser in our lives doesn't mean being isolated or not being hurt. Don't follow your heart, inform your heart.
