Kane continues to push the envelope of Hip Hop by merging it with R&B and working with the legendary Patti LaBelle.  After touring with Patti, Kane took notes of what he could incorporate within his show once again proving he was more than a Hip Hop artist, he was an artist period.  He goes out on his 1st headlining tour with Digital Underground, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte & 3rd Bass.  Memories of backstage water gun fights and building with a young Tupac Shakur are takeaways from these more innocent times. S2: MF DOOM, Part 13 - Eulogy

In this episode we speak with Tom Brown, head of Lex Records in London. MF Doom signed with Lex Records in 2003, where he released four incredible albums, which included collaborations with Danger Mouse, J Dilla, Bishop Nehru, Janeiro Jarel, Ghostface Killah and Thom Yorke. Tom was the man at the helm at Lex and worked closely with Doom all the years he was there, although it took a while for them to actually meet face to face. He reflects fondly on the ups and downs, as well as, the opportunity to not only have worked with him for many years, but also of the bond they shared.

S2: MF DOOM, Part 12 - Lex Records, London

In this episode we chat with Young Guru, the award winning engineer and hip hop historian, as well as award winning producer Just Blaze. Both of them open up about their time at Baseline Studios which was the home recording studio for all things Roc-A-Fella Records. They reveal how the reception area at Baseline Studios became the true indicator for authentic hip hop of those truly in the “know”.

While producing, crafting, mixing, and mastering some of Hip Hop’s biggest tunes, Young Guru and Just Blaze with the rest of those who kept Baseline Studios operating were keeping their ears to the streets. Would those ears lead to what could possibly be the biggest surprise signing in Hip Hop history?!
