"A new command I give you" Jesus said to His followers as He was preparing to lay down His life for us, "Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
Each of us needs others with whom we can laugh, cry and be totally honest. We need friends who care about us, who care enough to listen when we need to talk, comfort and encourage us when we are hurting, friends willing to set aside their own agendas and be there for us through thick and thin. This is the way life in Jesus is meant to be experienced, in community with one another. Yet does God really expect us to give up our lives for one another?
