We Ruin Sports

Listen Later

Organized sports are temporarily suspended due to the COVID 19 situation and some of you are bummed. That’s understandable. Gathering in large groups is a problem right now. We just have to sit and wait. However, you know what else is a problem in sports? The stories we share this week will reveal some of the tragedy and some of the humor behind the sporting events and extreme fanaticism. This week Nydia shares the story of the Estadio Nacional Disaster in Lima Peru. Some of you may not know about this, but it was the worst disaster in soccer (football) history. Dana tells us the hilarious stories of baseball promotions gone wrong. She shares the story of the West Michigan Whitecaps: Cash Dash Money Drop, Los Angeles Dodgers: Ball Night, Chicago White Sox: Disco Demolition Night, and the infamous Cleveland Indians: 10 Cent Beer Night.
For dinner, we went with stadium foods. Dana made a delicious homemade version of the famous Cleveland Thromenator hotdog. For dessert, Nydia prepared some easy, yet tasty Chipwiches. We drank canned wine again. Remember there’s no glass allowed in the stadiums. We gave 14 Hands Winery canned Rose a try. This is not a spritzer, folks. One can is equal to a half bottle of wine!
