We tend to avoid uncomfortable emotions such as anger or fear but suppressing them doesn't mean getting rid of them. Whether we like it or not the only way to free ourselves from emotions is by acknowledge and feeling them. However there are ways to feel these emotions without having to relive past trauma or suffering in the process.
