A stronghold is something that has a hold of one that is strong. Addictions, fear, doubt and a lack of faith are all strongholds. Jesus can help you only if you let Him. Some say that we use Jesus as a crutch but the truth is, we should. We should depend on Him with anything and everything from the largest to the smallest things in life. Now we as humans do not have the ability to break a stronghold but we know the one that can.
The war against the strongholds are not and will not be the carnal objects. Most that want help want it instantly which they will turn to drugs, medication and alcohol. The carnal objects are temporary just covering up the strongholds. So how do we fight against the strongholds?
Eph 6:14-17 these items are spiritual items, they can't be physically seen.
If you want out of the stronghold then ask God to have it removed but you must be ready AND willing. If we believe that God can remove the strongholds then why are they still in our lives? Because we think we can fix it ourselves. One problem is that non-spiritual people are thinking they can be cured of their stronghold thru God. The unsaved can't speak spiritually because they do not have the spirit of God in them. Now if you're born again then you have a power within you that is able to remove the strongholds. The second problem is that the saved try to fix it with fleshly fixes. The saved should be praying for the strongholds to be removed from others lives. If you're one of the ones that try to fix the problems yourself then you'll walk around worrying yourself to a literal death.
