The foundation of a democracy and a free people is the freedom to debate on different points of view without fear or persecution. Through open public debate, citizens learn about all sides of critical issues facing their society and participate in finding solutions. Without free speech, we can’t make informed decisions, which only serves those who seek to enforce their will on us.
