As those who bear the Lord's name, being His beloved children, who are we to be His Name with all faithfulness and holiness, and not with vanity by associating His Name with anything corrupt, idolatrous, or unholy. Israel, was to bear His Name by being distinct, set apart from the nations and called to represent the YHWH by different doctrine and practice, consecrated by what they did or did not do, eat, or wear. Seeing as these dietary and cleanliness laws indicated that the Holy of Holies was not yet open to us, how then ought we live as those who now have unfettered access before the Throne in Heaven, with clean hands and pure hearts, washed by the blood of Christ.
