In episode 41 of Web3 Warriors, Krome interviews Vincent Somsen, Head of Partnerships at Winding Tree, about their mission to revolutionize the travel industry through peer-to-peer blockchain technology. They discuss the difficulties we face with web2 travel companies that manipulate travelers with pressure tactics, monetize their data and offer minimal transparency when it comes to transactions. Through a peer-to-peer open source system that is accountable to the blockchain, Winding Tree aims to cut out much of the misinformation by middlemen in the online travel industry. Their community-centered non-profit organization is using a custom-built protocol and operating as a DAO, with the goal of completely revamping the way travel is handled online.
