  • My Breech Baby Wouldn't Flip: Marie's Vaginal Breech Birth Story

Marie found out her baby boy was breech around 28 weeks. For the next two months she tried everything to turn him: acupuncture, moxibustion, inversions, chiropractic care, Spinning Babies, even handstands in the pool. When an ECV didn't turn him either, she made peace with it and chose a different path: a vaginal breech birth.

In this episode, Dr. Delisa Skeete Henry sits down with Marie, a first-time mom who gave birth at 40, to talk through the whole journey. They cover what it felt like to hear "still breech" week after week, why she chose to have her ECV unmedicated, how a free HypnoBirthing audiobook changed the way she saw her body, how her doula helped her through labor, and the moment a photo of her baby's foot changed everything. Marie also shares the question she asked mid-push ("Is he going to fit?") and the answer that got her through.

A note from Marie: an in-person HypnoBirthing course at Amazing Births in Miami was another big part of how she and her husband prepared as a family.

If you've just been told your baby is breech, this conversation is for you. Breech is a position, not a diagnosis, and you deserve to know all of your options.

This podcast is for education only and isn't medical advice. Talk with your provider about what's right for you and your baby.

  • Breech at 32 Weeks: Do I Need to Panic Yet?

You just found out your baby is breech, and the first thing you want to know is whether you should be worried yet. Dr. Delisa Skeete Henry, board-certified OB/GYN and founder of WeBirthEmpowered, answers four of the questions women ask most once that word comes up.

She covers what 32 weeks actually means (and why it's usually too early to panic), what an ECV is like from the inside, including how it's done, what makes someone a candidate, and what would stop the procedure partway through. She explains why so many providers schedule a C-section the moment breech comes up, tracing it back to a single study from 2000 whose own authors later said the conclusions were unfair. And she walks through how to find a provider who is genuinely trained in vaginal breech birth, plus what to listen for in how a provider answers you.

None of this is about talking you out of a C-section. It's about making sure that whatever you choose, you chose it.

    In this episode:
Should I panic if my baby is breech at 32 weeks?
What does an ECV actually feel like, and what are the real risks?
Why do some providers automatically schedule a C-section for breech?
How do I find a provider who supports vaginal breech birth?

  • Breech Doesn't Automatically Mean C-Section.

If you've just been told your baby is breech, you're probably being handed one option. There are more than that.

In this first episode, Dr. Delisa Skeete Henry, a board-certified OB/GYN in South Florida trained in vaginal breech delivery, walks through what a breech presentation actually is, why it happens, and what happens next.

    In this episode:

    • The four types of breech, and why the type changes your options
    • The timeline: when there's still time for baby to turn on their own, and when a decision needs to be made
    • Ways babies can be helped to turn, including positional work, chiropractic care, and moxibustion
    • ECV, what the procedure involves, who's a candidate, and what to ask your provider about it
    • Planned cesarean, when it's the right call
    • Vaginal breech birth, why it fell out of practice, and why it's coming back for well-selected pregnancies

The point isn't to push you toward any one path. It's so that whatever you choose, you chose it.
