Many religious movements, including branches of Christianity, have been built on the charisma of an individual or group of people. Churches can be formed and grown by a passionate pastor without God’s blessing or favor. When you see a large, growing church, you can’t assume that God is behind it. You have to discern whether it’s growing under the power and wisdom of man, or because the members are submitted to the power of God and sharing His truth, even when it’s not popular.
