The Two Year Bible

Week 1 Review

Listen Later

Chris Case and Sarah Pascual kick off the Two Year Bible journey by diving into Genesis 1–3, Luke’s opening chapters, and Psalms 1 & 8. Together they explore the meaning of creation, the cultural mandate, and the image of God in both man and woman. They unpack the goodness of creation, humanity’s calling to cultivate and steward, and the tragic entrance of sin in the garden. Along the way, they highlight themes like chiasm in Genesis, the dignity of women as ezer (“helper”), the first gospel promise in Genesis 3, and how the flood narrative points to Christ. In Luke, they contrast Jesus’ humble birth with the power of Rome and Herod, showing how God’s kingdom overturns worldly expectations. This first episode sets the stage for the whole reading plan: seeing how every passage points us to God’s character, His purposes, and ultimately to Jesus. This week: Genesis 1-6, Luke 1:1-2:40, and Psalms 1 and 8.
