Somehow, the Falcons managed to drop a 9-7 decision to the Carolina Panthers, who entered the contest with a record of 1-12, at a rainy and windy Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The loss drops the Falcons to 6-8 and puts them behind the proverbial 8-ball for playoff qualification. Because of the loss, the Falcons must rely on Tampa Bay to lose twice in their last three games (one against Carolina) to win the NFC South division title, and their NFC wild card hopes have taken a massive hit.
