This week we’ll dig further into this amazing collection of ancient poems and hymns as we take a hard look at some of the Psalms that seem mean, even hateful.
The key to note is this: the Psalms are not God talking to us, they’re us talking to God. If we miss that, we can take away some bad ideas. But if we understand it, everything makes a lot more sense.
It also comforts us when we realize we can take everything to God – even the bad, hurtful and hateful things we're feeling – because God knows them already, and he loves us anyway.
(Note: This episode in includes a reading of Psalm 58:1 but is incorrectly referred to as Psalm 59:1.)
