Pure worship is always the simplest sincerity of the heart. Submission and humility, as modeled by both Jesus and Ruth, reveal the character of the Kingdom. If we become sophisticated like the Pharisees, we neglect the grace of God, and our pride fools us into self-righteousness that God will never reward.

God’s ways always prevail, even in the midst of betrayal, denial, persecution, sibling wars, and bitter hopelessness. There’s so much redemption in this week’s reading!
