In Jesus’ time, tribes of people and the unique cultures within them were all about their own survival, protection, and gaining wealth and power for themselves. Jesus came to flip that way of living upside down. HIS tribe would be the first one to exist solely for the benefit of ALL the other tribes. How did he model this? He built a bigger table and invited everybody to it, instead of building a higher wall to keep people out.
