John 15:7-8 Jesus says that His words should remain in us so that we have power by receiving what we ask of the Father. The disciples who were present at the time of Jesus witnessed his power and exercised it for themselves. Mark 3:14- Jesus is the one who appoints authority. Christ wants us to abide in him so that by doing so he will work through us. Jesus wants his followers to free people just like he did. He freed captives. His name holds power over evil.
