Week 5: 1 Corinthians 8-9

What do we get rewarded for? For doing what we were told, or for going above and beyond what we’ve been assigned? Rewards are for things that go above and beyond obedience. God calls us all to obedience, but He loves the sacrifices of obedient children.

Paul makes it very clear that there is no work more valid than others–sacred or secular–all work is unto God. We receive our rewards not for how spectacular our results were, but for how much we give to the Lord that He didn’t first give us.
