The tabernacle is erected and God ordains His priests to be the mediators between Himself and the people. Everything seems to be going so well, but then Aaron’s sons, the priests, offer “unauthorized fire” before the Lord and lose their lives. How can such an unclean, sinful people have a relationship with a holy God? That is the question the rest of the book of Leviticus seeks to answer.
