Friends! This week, in honor of Ancestor Szn, I wanted to share an episode that focused more heavily on connecting with the beloved dead. More specifically, I wanted to share some insights on how to do so with ritual safety in mind, as well as potential pitfalls, complexities, and needs for discernment when connecting with Ancestors in general.

This teaching is NOT a criticism by any means. But, as someone who’s been a practitioner of Ancestral Lineage Healing work for many years, it feels like there’s a responsibility to share the nuances involved in this work. Ancestors have become a HOT TOPIC in new age spirituality, and there’s a lot of romanticization I’ve been noticing on the interwebs. The danger here is that we don’t also acknowledge the very real dimensions of Ancestor work that are messy, complicated, and not super ritually safe.

PLEASE NOTE: this episode is truly JUST an introduction to the very complicated territory of Ancestral connection + healing work. It is by NO MEANS a complete road map of the territory. Please do not take this teaching as a ‘how to’ and apply it to your own work. I say this because I have learned the hard way MANY times over the years, of how this work can very easily go wrong, and cause real harm. That’s part of the reason I’m sharing this episode!
