In Nigeria, the presidency released the list containing the names of new ministers and their portfolios on Wednesday, 16, August, 2023; and Nigerians have been reacting to the calibre of the appointees as well as the portfolios assigned to some of them. 

Also, the West African regional bloc ECOWAS says it has chosen an undisclosed “D-Day” for a possible military intervention to restore Niger’s democratically elected president following last month’s coup.
