Week of October 13th, 2025

As we move through mid-October, the energy feels both tender and transformative. Pluto’s shift in Aquarius and the waning Moon invite reflection, release, and reconnection. This is a week to ground in truth, nurture what sustains you, and let creativity flow in its natural rhythm.

Monday, October 13 – Indigenous Peoples Day & Pluto’s Portal

In the United States, Monday is recognized as Indigenous Peoples Day, though some still call it Columbus Day. It remains a complicated and emotionally charged holiday. Coming from New York, where Columbus Circle and its parade were such fixtures, I’ve always found it strange to honor such a figure, given what we know of his history.

Indigenous Peoples Day feels like a step toward acknowledgment—recognizing how the United States was forged—but we’re in a time when “alternate facts” and revisionist impulses threaten to erase history rather than explore it. True history lives in archaeology, anthropology, and reflection, not denial.

I prefer the name Indigenous Peoples Day, even if it’s imperfect. Perhaps, as awareness deepens, it will evolve into something more inclusive and accurate. For now, we remain in a collective fog—caught between revelation and resistance.

Astrologically, Pluto is in Aquarius, symbolizing transformation, endings, and rebirth. The Moon in Cancer on this day feels poignant—a call to nurture, to reflect, and to ground ourselves emotionally as we confront deep change. Pluto reminds us that growth never comes without grief; something must die for something new to be born.

Even as my microphone conveniently died mid-sentence (Pluto’s humor at work!), I was reminded that when we resist change, destruction and chaos intensify. The lesson: step through the portal, even if it’s uncertain. Transformation demands release—grief, reflection, acceptance, and renewal.

Today invites connection, prayer, and community. The Moon-Jupiter energy emphasizes opportunity through love, kinship, and shared humanity. A conversation with a Mexican friend—a teacher and healer from an Indigenous community—brought this home. Her mission is to help people reconnect to roots, ceremony, and the Earth, regardless of their background. That longing to belong, to feel connection, is universal.

From the Maya to the Romans, civilizations rise and fall, teaching us that evolution only happens when we dare to transform. On this day, ask yourself: What grounds me? Who are my allies? How can I contribute to healing and community? This is a day for reflection, bonding, and nurturing new beginnings from a place of heart.

Tuesday, October 14 – The Moon Enters Leo

The Moon goes void at 1:05 a.m. ET and enters Leo at 6:47 a.m. This shift ushers in creativity, playfulness, and self-expression. It’s a great day to shine your light, complete projects, and share what you’ve been building.

We’re still in a waning moon phase, so completion energy is strong—wrap things up, celebrate progress, and let inspiration flow like fireflies in the night. Capture new ideas, even fleeting ones, and revisit them later. The digital age makes note-taking effortless—just remember to actually look back at what you record.

Wednesday, October 15 – Friction Turns to Flow

Morning may bring friction or creative tension, but as the day unfolds, energy smooths out. By midday, there’s a strong current of momentum—perfect for collaboration, idea exchange, and productivity.

Keep your curiosity alive and follow what sparks your imagination. Transformation comes through persistence and engagement.

Thursday, October 16 – Rest, Reset, Refocus

The Moon goes void at 1:06 a.m. ET and enters Virgo at 2:06 p.m. The morning and early afternoon are ideal for rest, reflection, and quiet productivity. Avoid launching new projects; instead, tend to what’s already in motion.

Once the Moon moves into Virgo, practical energy kicks in. You may feel an urge to organize, plan, or refine. Pay attention to what support systems you truly have—and which ones need recalibration.

Friday, October 17 – The Reality Check

Thursday’s themes carry into Friday. This is a day to reassess expectations—perhaps a plan, person, or process isn’t unfolding as hoped. Instead of frustration, use this as an opportunity to adapt and reorient. Real success often comes from working with what’s available, not idealizing what’s missing.

By evening, clarity emerges: new systems or allies may step forward. Trust the process.

Saturday, October 18 – Recharge and Regenerate

The Moon goes void at 5:10 p.m., staying there until Libra begins just after midnight. Saturday night is perfect for rejuvenation and self-care—take a sauna, enjoy a comforting meal, spend time with a pet or someone you love.

After a week of heavy transformation themes, allow yourself softness.

Sunday, October 19 – The Gift of Life

With the Moon in Libra, Sunday is about beauty, balance, and connection. Surround yourself with music, art, conversation, and people who lift your spirit. We’re in the Dark of the Moon—a liminal space before renewal.

Savor the stillness. Reflect on your week. Enjoy the gift of your life, just as it is, right now.
