More about Mitch Suplee:
Suplee starred at South River High from 1984-86 was the first offensive lineman named Anne Arundel County Player of the Year by The Sun. He was named a prep All-American by Sporting News, played in the Big 33 All-Star Game and was named Co-Player of the Decade by the Arundel Sun.
Suplee received a scholarship to the University of Maryland and became a three-year starter at center. The Edgewater native was named second team All-Atlantic Coast Conference in 1991 and earned the Tommy Marcus Trophy as Maryland's Most Outstanding Lineman that same year. The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder was a team captain as a senior.
Suplee played five years in the Arena Football League with the Albany Firebirds. He was a three-time Arena League All-Star as an offensive and defensive lineman and had his No. 76 jersey retired by Albany following conclusion of his career in 1997.
Since retiring from professional football, Suplee has dedicated his time to coaching - serving as an assistant coach at Annapolis, South River and St. Mary's high schools.
