Our small group discussion questions are listed below:
Q: Put yourself in Timothy's shoes (i.e. a young person leading a ministry). How do Paul's words in these verses make you feel?
Q: Paul uses the term "beloved child" to talk about his disciple, Timothy. Paul also spends time affirming Timothy in his sincere faith. Do you have a relationship with an older, wiser 'disciple' where you feel treasured and valued?
Q: Following on from the previous question, do you have any discipling relationships where you are deliberately treasuring and valuing someone younger than yourself?
Q: Timothy was not what you'd expect from the leader of a church, yet God chose to work through him to lead the church at Ephesus. Especially at a young age, it can be hard to believe that you're ever "ready" to serve. Do any of you feel called to serve God in a way where you're not ready? Are you ignoring it or are you pursuing it?
Q: Paul talks about how the Holy Spirit gives us extraordinary power, love, and self-control that we can't replicate on our own. Does anyone have any examples from their life or someone they know that exemplifies this?
