1. Put yourself in Timothy's shoes (i.e. a young person leading a ministry). How do Paul's words in these verses make you feel?

2. In verse 1, Paul prefaces his charge to Timothy by reminding him of Christ's future judgment and the coming of His kingdom. How should this urgency affect the sharing of our Gospel?

3. What are some things that worldly culture "preaches" that go against the Gospel? What makes those things attractive or enticing?

4. Paul gives a total of five commands to Timothy in verse 2 that were talked about in the lesson. What are they and what do they mean?

5. Paul warns about those with "itching ears" who will find their own sources of truth. Where do you tend to turn for affirmation in today's world?
