Brigid and Elizabeth discuss their recent getaways, which could not possibly be more different. From impromptu Whitney Houston dance parties by the pool at a family resort to a weekend of spiritual growth with spa treatments and luxury bedding, the gals break down the merits of both types of trips.

• Brigid’s family, all 19 of them, took a weekend trip to Nemacolin, a luxury resort in Pennsylvania. With the ability to rent a large home and indulge in the resort’s amenities, their trip was perfect for a family that spans all ages. With their own s’mores-perfect fire pit, a stellar pool, zip lines and ropes courses, a top-notch spa, and even a zoo, Nemacolin has something for everyone. Including those wishing to dance to some Whitney poolside.

• Elizabeth parlayed a work trip into a quick getaway with girlfriends to Miraval in Austin, Texas where the aim was decidedly more relaxing and spiritual. Elizabeth might have been a touch hesitant to place her phone in its resort-provided sleeping bag but she certainly partook in the spa and wellness classes on offer. Aside from walking meditation classes and poolside lounging, the highlight of the trip was perhaps the otherworldly bedding situation.
