Weekend League

No league is more thrilling from top to bottom than the Primera División, but the title race in France is also hard to predict, with the alleged underdog pulling away last weekend. Things look more set in Premier League and Bundesliga, on the other hand. But in each league there’s still plenty at stake in the final match days.

While Bayern gets another chance at sealing the championship, ManCity will host Chelsea in an early Champions League final matchup. And in La Liga? Well, they’re all facing each other in the first four! A good weekend to decide a title race, don’t you think? Also: Juve - AC Milan.

Inter Milano crowned themselves as the first champions of the big five European football leagues. ManCity did their part, but a fan protest at Old Trafford by United fans caused the cancellation of their match against Liverpool, so we’ll have to wait to call it. Meanwhile, the title races that are still ongoing in Spain and France saw one of their main contestants lose, possibly missing out on the trophy now.

Barcelona had the chance to rise to the table mid-week, but lost to Granada. Inter and ManCity, on the other hand, could finally bathe in championship glory if all goes well for them this weekend. There’s no shortage of action, despite a Bundesliga break.

Despite many mid-week matches in the previous week, all of the big European football leagues delivered entertaining and impactful results across the board. As there’s no champion crowned yet, and very few teams officially relegated, stakes are getting higher by the week.
